Why a site to help women lose fat?

fat loss for womenI created this site because to be honest…I was tired of all the lies about effortless ways to lose weight.  Or, easy fat loss promotions guaranteed to help you reduce fat by either taking this pill, drinking this powder mix, or trying the next product or rather gimmick.  Plus, the training routines were all too easy in that the effort required to put into them, just didn’t make any sense.

And I don’t know about you, but with all my female friends and family, fat loss NEVER came that easy for them or me!  Not to mention, I had a complete misunderstanding of what female fat loss really meant.

I also tried the latest and greatest workout routines of each year that were supposed to be the ultimate answer to fast fat loss.  Oh, and let’s not forget all the various suggestions for supplementation, touted to be the “secret to quick weight loss” that I would find in the numerous fitness magazines I would buy.  And despite all my efforts in using them, from what I read and the routines, I ultimately tried…nothing ever produced results, at least not noticeable results.

Plus, I had simply had enough of airbrushed photos of women showing a perfectly toned sexy body.  One that it would seem that I could never achieve.

Yes, indeed I was tired of it.  I was especially tired of it because when I tried all those the “quick and easy” fat loss programs, none of them worked for me.  It was discouraging, frustrating, and made me feel like there was something wrong with me.  No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t lose the fat.  And all I saw when I looked in the mirror was…well, an ugly FAT body.

I began to wonder to myself, “Is fat loss even possible for women, especially those my age?”  Then I’d remember seeing women who I had known who lost fat weight, so I thought maybe the problem was…it’s just impossible for me.

Fortunately, something inside me changed.  I was determined to lose fat and reduce my weight to  create my own beautiful sexy body, even if I has to do a million leg toning exercises, spend hours a day on a full body workout, and kill myself with unforgivable HIIT routines, (though I didn’t even know what those were at the time.)

And by the time I was done with redesigning my body, I was going to be sure it didn’t need to be air brushed like those on any magazine.  I decided it was time to learn the science of fat loss, and get to the bottom of what works and what doesn’t…and basically the right way to lose weight.

Learning about fat loss – the smart way

So I started studying.  I read books, took several college classes, and worked with professionals in the health and nutrition field.  I learned about the effects on the body in relation to food nutrition, diets, and using proper exercise techniques.

I also learned about various types of workout routines such as high intensity interval training (HIIT training), resistance training, cardio training, and a lot more. I received my personal training certification through my local community college.

I was beginning to discover how fat loss actually worked for women  and what the best approach to the process was.

My Real Success Story

Then, I applied what I learned.  I started making better choices, not only with my nutrition but also in my commitment to working out and doing so with intensity and effectively to lose weight and burn fat.  I started slowly by taking baby steps.  As I continued with the baby steps, I noticed my body was changing.

I was feeling more energized.  I started gaining more flexibility, my clothes were fitting looser, and I actually started seeing muscles. I was getting that “toned” look many women are looking for.  As I started to see results, my steps got bigger.  I turned up my intensity, my motivation was super charged, and my confidence was growing as I started feeling really good about myself.

That journey started over 3 years ago.  Where am I today?  Well, in total weight I’ve lost 19 pounds going from 163 to 144 pounds.  But don’t let that number fool you because in that time I went from a total body fat percentage of 34% to currently 22%.  I also went from a size 14 to a size 8.  And at over 40 years of age, not only am I in the best shape of my life, I also rank in the top 10 percentile of women in my age group for standard fitness assessment tests.

But I’m not done either, those stats are from a while ago.  I’ve been continuing to redesign my body by adding more muscle reducing my body fat percentage.

In conjunction with the knowledge I’ve gained from my schooling, I also invested in some programs to help me stay focused and on track. (I found that I work best when I have a routine to follow and adding a variety of program options into my training helped me to not get bored.) I looked for those that incorporated the techniques and theories I had learned in my classes.

(I’ve written some reviews of those very same programs that you can read here. After all what good is an information site if you have the instruction, but no tools to apply that information with. It would be like teaching someone to fish, but not giving them a fishing rod to use.)

As for where I am at today when it comes to my goals of getting rid of fat weight and achieving the body of my dreams, I am getting closer and closer…and closer. 🙂

While I’m continuing to work on my body fat and fitness goals, I have to admit I look pretty good.  I can say for sure I feel fantastic and the glances I get from others as I walk down the street tell me they think so too.

Hey, I’ve been there and I understand how hard it is to get the look and body you want.  And I can assure you the information we need regarding losing fat is not in any pill, powdered drink, fad diet, or magazine with a picture of an air-brushed model whose primary goal is to sell us supplements.

Now this site isn’t pretty, but I’m not goin’ for looks…at least not on this webpage. 😉  But I’m going to be honest…sometimes brutally and give you the truth in information and knowledge that will help you get there.  That is what you will find here on this website.
